Adquiring an N.I.E. number
The Foreigners’ Identification Number (NIE) is compulsory and allows foreign citizens who carry out operations of a fiscal nature in Spain to be identified.
In order to avoid the problems associated with passport numbers changing when they are renewed and in order to monitor fiscal activity, the Spanish Authorities assign an NIE to all foreign citizens that does not change at all during the course of your life.
